I can offer:
Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy or Counselling
This is a discursive treatment that examines how experiences from our past affect the way we think, feel and behave in the present. It may emphasise the significance of unconscious processes, and in particular, how these processes influence us – both as individuals and in our interpersonal relationships. Sometimes when working with someone’s difficulties, it may be helpful to meet more frequently to give an opportunity to address difficulties more thoroughly. This can allow someone the security needed for this in depth work. Additional sessions are usually offered at a reduced rate to enable more in depth analysis in recognition of the fact that it is an increased financial and time commitment
Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy
A time limited treatment between 6 and 20 weeks (more usually 16 weeks in the NHS) that uses a structured psychodynamic approach to recognise patterns of thoughts and feelings that may be causing a change in your levels of anxiety and mood, affecting your relationships.
The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) guidelines for depression state that brief psychodynamic therapy is one option that can be considered for depressed patients as an alternative to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Follow this link to find out more: NICE Guidelines.
